As a seasoned movie buff, I can confidently say that Monica Beletsky‘s career is nothing short of inspiring. With her impressive resume spanning from NBC and HBO to Apple TV+, she has consistently demonstrated her ability to create captivating stories that resonate with audiences worldwide. Her commitment to championing female and non-gender conforming writers is commendable, making her a trailblazer in the industry.
As an ardent admirer, I’m thrilled to share that Monica Beletsky, the visionary behind “Manhunt,” has officially joined forces with the dynamic management and production powerhouse, 42.
The show titled “Manhunt” featuring Tobias Menzies (Emmy-winner) and Anthony Boyle premiered this year on Apple TV+. Additionally, Beletsky played a part as both writer and producer for the third season of FX’s “Fargo”, starring Ewan McGregor, Carrie Coon, and Mary Elizabeth Winstead. This season received a total of 16 Emmy nominations and 3 Golden Globe nominations, and Beletsky was recognized with an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Limited Series, shared with others. Furthermore, she garnered nods from the Writers’ Guild Award and Producers Guild of America (PGA) as well. Notably, Beletsky was the only female writer and producer nominated in the Outstanding Limited Series category that year.
Beyond this, it’s worth noting that Beletsky has worked on shows such as “Friday Night Lights” on NBC, “Parenthood,” and “The Leftovers” on HBO. From 2019 to 2022, she was under an overall contract with Apple TV+. Prior to this, she had developed features for HBO Films, Tristar/Sony, and Amazon, and also created TV pilots for FX and Amazon.
Over the course of her professional journey, Beletsky has consistently advocated for female and gender-nonconforming authors, notably serving as a yearly mentor for The Black List and Women in Film’s Episodic Writing Lab, which aims to ready women and those from underrepresented genders for writing careers. Amid the pandemic, Beletsky extended her expertise to those unable to attend film school by providing complimentary instruction through her social media platforms.
42’s management division is headed by CEO Josh Varney, along with Cathy King, Kate Buckley, Peter Dealbert, Simon Beresford, and Chris Licata. More recently, they have added managers Jake Miller and Karli Doumanis to their team in the LA branch. This group collectively manages a roster of prominent personalities in the entertainment industry, including Jesse Armstrong (“Succession”), Julian Fellowes (“Downton Abbey”), Ralph Fiennes (“Conclave”), Anna Sawai (“Shogun”), Nicholas Hoult (“The Order”), Charlie Brooker (“Black Mirror”), Lynne Ramsay (“You Were Never Really Here”), Darius Marder (“Sound of Metal”), and Alena Smith (“Dickinson”).
Beletsky continues to be represented by Johnson Shapiro Slewett & Kole LLP and Persona PR.
