Mang0 booted from Cloud9 after inappropriate behavior at Ludwig’s event

In a turn of events, I, a dedicated fan, find myself sharing the news that Joseph ‘Mang0’ Marquez has been parted ways with Cloud9 due to his unacceptable conduct at Ludwig’s recent Super Beerio Kart event. The event was live-streamed for everyone to witness.

On June 21st, Ludwig organized his most recent Mario Kart tournament featuring drinks. Early in the game, the conduct of renowned Super Smash Bros. player Mang0 raised some eyebrows.

At Ludwig-hosted events, Mang0’s intoxicated actions often made Maya uncomfortable, leading to a ban on his future participation at these events. It’s worth mentioning that this isn’t the first instance of Mang0 getting into trouble due to his drinking habits.

Subsequently, the well-known Smash player promised to offer private apologies to those whom he may have discomfited, and accepted any penalties that might be imposed upon him.

Now, the consequences are piling up. Cloud9 has decided to release Mang0, effective immediately.

Cloud9 drops Mang0 after over a decade with org

On June 23rd, I’m sharing this news with you all – after careful consideration, we’ve chosen to part ways with our star player, mang0, from our team here at Cloud9. This decision wasn’t made lightly and we appreciate the incredible contributions he’s made during his time with us.

It doesn’t matter if you’ve been here for a long time or have achieved great things; the actions shown are completely inappropriate and go against the fundamental principles that our organization stands for.

“We wish mang0 the best in his future endeavors.”

Official Statement from Cloud9

As a diehard fan, I’ve been proudly cheering for Mang0 ever since he joined Cloud9 back in 2014. Under the iconic blue banner, he’s consistently ranked as one of the top Melee players globally, with an impressive list of victories that spans numerous events and a staggering $300,000 in prize money earned just from these competitions alone.

Moments after Cloud9’s statement was shared across social media, Mang0 addressed the situation.

He affirmed on platform X (originally known as Twitter), “I’ve been dropped by C9.” He added, “It seems I might be barred from competitions. There’s no one else to fault except for me. I never imagined I could sink this low.

I’m going to be out of reach for a bit, I apologize. Truth be told, I wish I were in better shape. Regrettably, I let something incredible slip through my fingers, much like tossing valuable treasures into a bin.

1. It appears C9 has discharged me.

2. It seems I might be barred from tournaments.

3. Oh, what a rotten turn of events!

4. Truthfully, there’s no one to fault but myself, yet…

5. I never imagined I could sink this low.

6. I’ll likely be out of touch for a while.

7. Allow me to express my apologies.

8. Wishing I was more skilled.

9. Unfortunately, I let it all slip away.
