Popular video blogger Casey Neistat shared the inspiring story of Logan Knowles, an athlete with cerebral palsy who proved doctors wrong by finishing the 2025 New York City Marathon.
Cerebral palsy is a condition that impacts a person’s ability to move and control their muscles. It happens when the brain doesn’t develop properly or is injured before birth.
The way this condition affects people is very different from person to person. Some individuals require wheelchairs, while others, such as Logan, are able to participate in demanding sports.
Logan has loved sports since childhood. He played little league baseball, even using a walker to get around, but was removed from the team for breaking the rules with actions like sliding and diving.

Doctors were astonished by his dedication to sports, especially considering they believed he would need a wheelchair for the rest of his life after he was born.
I’m a huge fan of Logan, and it’s amazing how he’s proven everyone wrong! A big part of that is his mom, who always pushed him to just be a normal kid and enjoy life. He’s even gotten into competitive skiing – he’s a Class 31 ATF athlete and is seriously training to make it to the Paralympics for Para Alpine Ski Racing. It’s so inspiring to watch!

Logan Knowles inspires the internet after completing NYC Marathon
So, in 2025 I decided to tackle the New York City Marathon – 26.2 miles running all over the five boroughs! It was brutal, but I actually finished, thanks to my trainer. Though, let me tell you, it cost me three pairs of running shoes to get there!
Logan frequently wears out his shoes very quickly. Because of his cerebral palsy, he walks differently than most people, and his big toe often ends up poking through the worn-out sneakers.
Around mile 20, he started getting severe muscle cramps in his back, which made it hard to stand and eventually caused him to fall. Even with these challenges, he managed to finish the race, and Casey Neistat shared his incredible story on YouTube.
Neistat explained that whenever he feels like giving up or doubting his abilities, he reminds himself, ‘Logan did it,’ using that as motivation.
The story deeply moved people online, with many saying it inspired them to pursue their own goals, just like Logan who didn’t give up even when things were tough.
