A man in China earned $23,000 in a single month by providing cat-sitting services, sometimes needing to feed as many as 55 cats each day.

Huan Cong, a resident of Shanghai, China, earned $23,000 over the Lunar New Year by single-handedly caring for 1,000 cats.

According to the South China Morning Post, Cong has been providing cat-sitting services for nearly ten years. Despite keeping his prices the same, his business has seen a significant increase in earnings this year. Cong and his team of four employees remained in Shanghai during the recent holiday period.

Okay, so this guy absolutely crushed it, making a year’s worth of money in just one month! But honestly, it took a serious toll on him. He told a newspaper he was running on about three hours of sleep a night the whole time, and at one point he was taking care of fifty-five cats! It was a crazy month, to say the least.

We helped 270 families last Spring Festival, but this year that number grew to 320 – an increase of 18%. We anticipate around 25% overall growth by the end of the holiday, and we expect to earn about 160,000 yuan just from our cat-feeding services, he said.

It’s not just Cong who’s getting attention for animal-related content online. A baby monkey named Punch has become an internet sensation after being left by his mother at a zoo.

The baby monkey has been attacked by fellow monkeys in the enclosure, and even has a bodyguard now.
