The highly anticipated partnership between Magic: The Gathering and Final Fantasy is breaking records, with it already being the most successful expansion pack ever sold for the game, even weeks before its release on June 13th. This information was recently shared by Hasbro CEO Chris Cocks during a call with investors.
During the initial chat on the investors’ call, I proudly announced that we’ve broken a record with our Final Fantasy expansion – it’s already reached its high target, all thanks to pre-orders! Previously, another Universes Beyond expansion, The Lord of the Rings, which debuted in 2023, held the title. Now, I can’t wait to dive into this epic new world!
At a favorable moment for Hasbro, impressive sales numbers are being reported, and it was pointed out by Cocks that the prosperity within Wizards Of The Coast’s tabletop division is serving as a protective barrier against the unpredictable trade policies implemented by U.S. President Donald Trump. During the investor conference call, he stated, “The majority of our domestic supply originates in North Carolina and Texas, with additional production coming from Kyoto, Japan.
The popular trading card game Magic: The Gathering is planning to integrate all 16 main Final Fantasy series into a single expansion pack. This new set will be playable in all competitive formats of Magic: The Gathering. The special focus at the upcoming MagicCon in Las Vegas will be on this collaboration, with events like panels, photo opportunities, and a promotional card featuring Torgal from Final Fantasy XVI.

This set, offering booster packs, pre-designed Commander decks, and additional items, will debut on June 13. Pre-release events are planned at local gaming stores starting from June 6.
