Magic Librarian Ariana action gameplay system will include magic attacks and elemental forms

In a recent update, Compile Heart has shared fresh insights about the combat system in the game Magic Librarian Ariana ~The Books of the Seven Heroes~. This information was made available through a newly issued press release and an addition to the official website. The recently released screenshots offer a glimpse into some of the magical attacks that the protagonist, Ariana Virellis, can unleash in the game.

The magical assaults encompass a variety of elements, such as bursting fireballs and rebounding water spheres, along with laser beams. Furthermore, some spells will exhibit distinct characteristics upon pressing specific buttons. For instance, the Story of the Sword magic typically produces a basic sword swing, but a stronger version can be triggered by holding the button prior to release.

In this action RPG, there’s a special feature called “Form Change” where the character, Ariana, can switch her main element among Fire, Water, Wind, and Earth using the D-pad. Switching elements not only affects the type of magic attacks like Story of the Sword, but it also alters the color of Ariana’s dress. By default, she wears a blue dress symbolizing the Water element, but it transforms to red when she selects Fire or black and yellow for Earth.

As the player advances through the game, they’ll discover that more ways to move are being integrated. Some exciting new features on the horizon include a Double Jump option and a Dive move. The Dive move is particularly interesting as it will enable Ariana to smash certain terrains, uncovering hidden paths for her to explore further.

The enchanting librarian Ariana presents “The Books of the Seven Heroes” – coming soon to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4 in Japan on August 21st! However, at present, Compile Heart and Idea Factory have not announced plans for an English version of the game.
