Usually, these updates come out before Thursday Night Football, but since it’s the last week of the season, there is no Thursday game. Plus, with New Year’s Day being so close, there’s a chance it might get delayed a bit.

Later that day, the Seahawks play the 49ers in San Francisco in a crucial game. The team that wins will finish first in the division and have the best record in the NFC. Seattle needs to win or tie to stay in first place and avoid playing in the Wildcard round.

There are many NFL games on Sunday, but most won’t have a big impact on who makes the playoffs. The most crucial game is likely between the Steelers and Ravens. Pittsburgh didn’t secure their division title last week and now needs a win at home against the Ravens to get into the playoffs. They previously won against the Ravens, 27-22.

Beyond those games, most of this weekend’s contests are simply to determine draft order or playoff positioning. With 12 of the 14 playoff teams already decided, we’ll be watching to see if this week’s games change the final playoff bracket at all.
