The global sales firm, M-Appeal based in Berlin, has sealed extra distribution deals for three films from its selection at the Berlin International Film Festival.
In the recent sales, the film “Dreams (Sex, Love)” that is debuting today at the Berlinale Competition, has been purchased by Films4You for distribution in Portugal, Swallow Wings for release in Taiwan, and Beta Films for screening in Bulgaria.
Titled “Dreams (Sex, Love),” this latest work by Norwegian director Dag Johan Haugerud concludes his trilogy “Sex Love Dreams.” The preceding films debuted at Berlinale and Venice last year. In the movie, a young woman named Johanne’s private writings about her initial love affair stir tension within her family, leading her mother and grandmother to reconsider their own lives and aspirations. Additionally, Swallow Wings has obtained the rights for both “Sex” and “Love.”

Film titled “Living the Land,” a Golden Bear contender directed by Huo Meng, has secured distribution in Bulgaria through Beta Films. This distributor plans to release the movie in cinemas, expanding its current roster that already holds “The Substance,” “Motel Destino” and “Holy Cow.”

In a Family Saga, we follow the story of Xu Chuang, a 10-year-old boy, as he experiences the metamorphosis of his countryside home in China during the tumultuous year of 1991. The narrative unfolds through his perspective, providing a unique insight into the socio-economic shifts that were reshaping his community.
The film “Night Stage,” helmed by Marcio Reolon and Filipe Matzembacher, that made its debut in the Panorama section of the Berlinale, has been acquired by Flash Forward for distribution in Taiwan and Outplay for distribution in France.
This Brazilian erotic thriller delves into the secret romance between an actor and a politician, which grows progressively dangerous. The main roles are played by Gabriel Faryas as Matias, Cirillo Luna as Rafael, and Henrique Barreira as Fabio. The production is jointly handled by Avante Filmes and Vulcana Cinema from Brazil.
