Tyler Perry’s “Beauty in Black” on Netflix has certainly made its mark, coming close to dethroning the reigning champion, “The Lincoln Lawyer” Season 3. It’s a testament to Perry’s enduring appeal and the captivating storytelling that draws audiences in.
In the past week (October 25-31), Tyler Perry’s latest Netflix series titled “Beauty in Black” ranked as the second most-watched original streaming production within the United States, according to Luminate‘s weekly viewership chart. The series garnered a total of 1.2 billion minutes viewed during its first complete week on the platform, trailing just behind “The Lincoln Lawyer” Season 3, which maintained its position at the top for the second consecutive week with 1.4 billion minutes watched.
In its initial week, the Netflix series “Territory” ranked third in terms of viewing time with a total of 890.1 million minutes watched. Close behind was the second season of “Tulsa King,” which saw an increase in viewership on Paramount+ to reach 555.8 million minutes watched, thanks to the release of its seventh episode. Notably, the release of “Tulsa King” Season 2 also encouraged viewers to watch Season 1, making it the tenth most-watched title overall with a total of 264.9 million minutes viewed from October 25th to October 31st.
In its debut, ‘This Is the Zodaic’ garnered a watch time of 482.3 million minutes, placing it sixth on the list. The other spots on the chart were filled by previously released titles that clocked fewer than 400 million minutes watched: ‘Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story’, ‘Nobody Wants This’, ‘Agatha All Along’ and ‘Tulsa King’ Season 1.
In its premiere week on Netflix, “Don’t Move” ranked number one with a total of 792.3 million viewing minutes, while “Woman of the Hour” dropped from its initial lead to second place with 434.1 million viewing minutes. Coming in third was “Canary Black,” which garnered 291 million viewing minutes during its first week on Amazon Prime Video.
During the timeframe from October 25th to October 31st, none of the other titles surpassed the 200 million minutes watched. Following this, the positions on the chart were filled by “Family Pack”, “Infinite”, “Hocus Pocus 2”, “Martha”, “The Menendez Brothers”, “Do Patti” and “Brothers”.
