As a seasoned cinephile with decades of film and television consumption under my belt, I must say that the current streaming landscape is nothing short of breathtaking. The sheer volume of content being produced and consumed today is truly astounding.

The series ‘Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story,’ produced by Ryan Murphy, made a strong debut on Netflix, with an impressive 2.7 billion minutes viewed in its first complete week. This put it at the number one spot on Luminate‘s weekly chart for streaming original viewership, significantly outperforming the second-place title ‘The Perfect Couple,’ which garnered 916.4 million minutes watched during its third full week.

In the week following the release of its second episode, Tulsa King Season 2 was viewed for a total of 916.4 million minutes. Coming in close behind were two shows: Emily in Paris Season 4 during its second full week of Part 2 availability, and The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2 during its first full week of its sixth episode’s release and the debut day of its seventh episode. Both series garnered approximately 398.3 million minutes watched each.

In its debut week on Disney+, “Agatha All Along,” a new Marvel Cinematic Universe series, was the standout original streaming show with over 304.7 million minutes viewed, edging out all previous titles such as “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives,” “Into the Fire: The Lost Daughter,” Season 1 of “Tulsa King” and “Bad Monkey.” All these shows were re-watches.

In the movie rankings, “Rebel Ridge” maintained its top spot, having been viewed for a total of 363.7 million minutes. Debuting at number two was “His Three Daughters” on Netflix, with a watch time of 290.1 million minutes. Closing out the top three in its second full week was “Uglies,” with 230.1 million minutes watched.

The remaining titles in the chart had fewer than 100 million minutes viewed, which included “The Union,” “Officer Black Belt,” “Jailbreak: Love on the Run,” “The Deliverance,” “Descendants: The Rise of Red,” “Hocus Pocus 2,” and “A Family Affair.
