Mike Colter, known for his role in Luke Cage, might have revealed details about the upcoming third season of Daredevil: Born Again. He shared photos from the set, giving fans a first look at Charlie Cox’s new costume as Matt Murdock. Be warned: spoilers follow!
As of today, filming is progressing on Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again. The story sees Daredevil fighting against Mayor Kingpin (played by Vincent D’Onofrio) to save New York City, which Kingpin is controlling through a special task force and martial law.
Viewers can expect to see Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) back in the Marvel Cinematic Universe soon, and Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and Danny Rand (Finn Jones) will also be appearing in the third season of Daredevil: Born Again.
Colter recently shared some behind-the-scenes pictures from season three, but quickly took one down on Instagram (it stayed up on Threads for a while longer). The photo showed what Cox’s character, the blind lawyer, will be wearing, hinting at what’s to come for her.
Matt Murdock is going to prison in Daredevil: Born Again Season 3

A photo shared by Mike Colter from the set of Daredevil: Born Again shows Charlie Cox as Daredevil wearing an orange prison uniform. This implies that Matt Murdock will be imprisoned sometime during the second season or at the beginning of the third.
Dario Scardapane, the showrunner, previously mentioned to TopMob that the last five minutes of Season 2 would hint at what happens in Season 3, and this might be what he meant.
Many have suspected this would occur, as Kingpin has been aware of Matt Murdock’s secret identity for a while. Meanwhile, Matt is actively fighting back against Kingpin with a hidden network of allies.
Most fans expect Matt’s secret to be exposed to everyone in New York soon, or that he’ll make a big mistake in the season finale that gets him arrested.
This storyline has happened before in the Daredevil comics twice. The first time was in a 2006 story arc called ‘Devil in Cell Block-D,’ where Daredevil’s secret identity was revealed, leading to his imprisonment at Ryker’s. While in prison, he investigated the murder of his friend, Foggy Nelson.
Another instance appears in Chip Zdarsky’s 2021 Daredevil comic, where Daredevil—not Matt Murdock personally—is sent to prison, even wearing an orange version of his mask. This happens after he unintentionally kills a minor criminal during a confrontation.
It would be interesting to imagine what kind of mask Matt might create in prison, but it’s more probable his identity will be revealed, which aligns with the direction of the Born Again storyline.
