Taylor Haag, much like anyone else, can leave white men from Minneapolis puzzled too. The couple from Love Is Blind season eight, who were married in the show, had a mostly smooth journey, with one notable exception: a heated debate about whether Daniel Hastings had previously followed Taylor on Instagram or not. This incident between them was something Taylor playfully tried to downplay during a Love Is Blind reunion watch party at SXSW when asked to elaborate. “You don’t need to [ask]!” she replied. However, later she clarified, “I’ve been worried about this part of our story for an entire year because I knew how it would end. My biggest concern throughout all of this was that our love might be overshadowed by something so insignificant to us both.
On that particular day when Hastings visited Haag, he felt as if she was considering ending the experiment. “I remember thinking, ‘This might not be a good situation we’re walking into,’ I anticipated it would be something like ‘I’m overwhelmed, I need to go home’,” he shared. However, he was taken aback when it turned out to be about Instagram. Looking back now, he considers the incident as beneficial. “We’re being so deliberate in finding the person we’ll spend the rest of our lives with that any hint of doubt or intuition Taylor had needed to be tackled,” he added. Though the past is behind them and Haag no longer has any confusion about Hastings, his new tattoo will certainly make him more recognizable in the future.
