As a lifelong Dodgers fan born and raised in Los Angeles, this victory feels like a dream come true. I remember attending games at the old Dodger Stadium as a kid, dreaming of the day my team would once again lift the World Series trophy.

The Los Angeles Dodgers secured victory in the championship series, defeating the New York Yankees 7-6 during Game 5 and claiming the title of the 2024 Major League Baseball World Series champions.

As a diehard cinephile of baseball, I can’t help but marvel at the historic comeback we witnessed last night at Yankee Stadium. Overcoming a five-run deficit and securing the win, this brings the Dodgers’ World Series victories to eight in their franchise history. This thrilling matchup between the Dodgers and Yankees for the world championship is quite rare, with only five instances since 1958 – the year the Dodgers moved from Brooklyn to the West Coast. Truly a game made for high TV ratings!

Fireworks burst over Los Angeles in honor of the local team’s victory. The 2024 Dodgers were a team brimming with crowd-pleasers. Freddie Freeman, who hit at least four home runs throughout the series, was one such favorite, as well as Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts, pitchers Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Jack Flaherty, and Walker Buehler.
