Middle-earth just gained two more inhabitants.
Jamie Campbell Bower and Eddie Marsan are set to be part of the ensemble in “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” for the third season of the Amazon Prime Video series.
Bower is set to star as a main character throughout the series, whereas Marsan will have a more frequent but not continuous appearance. At present, the production team is preparing for the upcoming season, which will start filming this coming spring at Shepperton Studios located in the United Kingdom.
Bower is most famously recognized for his role as the villainous Henry Creel/Vecna in Netflix’s “Stranger Things,” but he has also appeared in various other roles such as portraying Mick Jagger in “Urban Myths: Mick & Margaret,” Christopher Marlow in “Will,” King Arthur in “Camelot,” the voice of Skiff in “Thomas & Friends,” and characters 11-12 in the remake of “The Prisoner” alongside Sir Ian McKellen.
In his first on-screen appearance, he starred in Tim Burton’s “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street,” alongside Johnny Depp, Alan Rickman, and Helena Bonham Carter. He later portrayed Gellert Grindelwald in the movies “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part I” and reprised his role in “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.” Additionally, he featured in three “Twilight” films and Kevin Costner’s Western series “Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1.
In a natural and easy-to-understand manner,
Marsan starred as Terry Donovan in Showtime’s “Ray Donovan” for seven seasons. He later took on the role again for the 2022 movie adaptation. Among his other notable appearances are “Deadpool 2,” “Atomic Blonde,” “Wrath of Man” directed by Guy Ritchie, “Deceit,” “Ridley Road,” “White Boy Rick,” and Adam McKay’s “Vice.
Marsan has been featured in films such as “Gangs of New York,” “War Horse,” “V for Vendetta,” “Mission Impossible 3,” “Hancock,” “Snow White and the Huntsman,” “Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw,” and Ritchie’s “Sherlock Holmes.
The TV series ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power,’ which serves as a prequel to the ‘Lord of the Rings’ saga, is overseen by J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay. They are joined by Lindsey Weber, Justin Doble, Kate Hazell in executive producing roles, along with director Charlotte Brändström. Matthew Penry-Davey serves as producer, while Ally O’Leary, Tim Keene, and Andrew Lee share co-producer duties.
