As an avid film enthusiast and someone who appreciates the rich tapestry of stories that cinema weaves, I am absolutely thrilled by the lineup for this year’s BFI London Film Festival Industry Forum. The opportunity to engage with industry titans like Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner, whose collective experience spans decades and countless critically acclaimed films, is nothing short of exhilarating.
The 2024 BFI London Film Festival has revealed an exciting schedule filled with talks and activities for its industry conference, featuring numerous esteemed speakers.
The event will happen at Picturehouse Central cinema in central London from October 10th to 16th. The industry segment of the festival is highlighted by three conversations under the “LFF Spotlight,” featuring Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner, co-chairs of Working Title Films (whose recent projects include Steve McQueen’s festival opener “Blitz”), Katie Goodson-Thomas, head of international production and development at Searchlight, and Jay Hunt, creative director for Europe at Apple TV+ and the Chair of BFI.
In other places, EbMaster is hosting a discussion with Johnnie Burn, the esteemed sound designer who has worked on numerous projects, including a prolonged creative relationship with Yorgos Lanthimos (such as the recent “Poor Things”) and “The Zone of Interest,” for which he received an Academy Award.
Additional activities feature conversations with documentary filmmakers such as Cécile Embleton (“Mother Vera”), Manon Ouimet and Jacob Perlmutter (“Two Strangers Trying Not to Kill Each Other”), as well as the crew of “Last Swim,” including co-writer/director Sasha Nathwani, cinematographer Olan Collardy, co-writer/producer Helen Simmons, and producers Campbell Beaton and Nisha Mullea. On the other hand, four panel discussions delve into topics like changing global markets, unique narratives, adaptations versus remakes, film and television production across the UK, and independent film promotion with professionals in sales, production, emerging writers, and marketing.

According to the festival’s industry program manager, Silvia Angrisani, this year’s industry lineup aims to deliver insights and motivation.
