Loki Writer Still Involved With Avengers: Doomsday

Kevin Feige, head of Marvel Studios, revealed in a recent chat with the press that Michael Waldron, the mind behind Disney+’s Loki series, is still attached to the upcoming film, Avengers: Endgame’s sequel – Avengers: Doomsday. This information surfaced following the announcement that Stephen McFeely has taken over scriptwriting for both Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars from Waldron.

During an interview at Marvel Studios’ headquarters in Burbank, Kevin Feige looked back on, discussed current events, and shared insights about the future of the MCU. In the course of this conversation, he disclosed that while Stephen McFeely was still working on the script for Avengers: Doomsday, Waldron is involved in the writing process.

Apart from Loki, Christopher Yost’s works span across various projects such as Adult Swim’s Rick and Morty, Starz’s Heels, the recently released Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022), and Hulu’s upcoming comedy series Chad Powers, which he co-created with Glen Powell.

Concurrently, McFeely collaborated with Christopher Markus on scriptwriting for multiple Marvel Cinematic Universe productions. Their joint efforts resulted in Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014), Captain America: Civil War (2016), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), and Avengers: Endgame (2019).

In United States movie theaters, the film “Avengers: Doomsday” will premiere on December 18, 2026, and “Avengers: Secret Wars” will follow suit on December 17, 2027.
