Logan Paul recently praised his incredibly rare Pikachu Illustrator card, calling it “the greatest collectible in the world” as the auction nears its end. He shared his appreciation for the record-breaking Pokémon card.
Before selling his collection, the popular online creator and professional wrestler posted a goodbye message on X, reminiscing about how much the cards meant to him and his career highlights.
In 2021, Paul acquired a highly valuable Pokémon card – a Pikachu Illustrator graded a perfect 10 by PSA – in a trade. He exchanged his own PSA 9 version of the card, plus an additional $4 million, to obtain it. This card is unique as it’s the only one of its kind to receive a perfect 10 grade from PSA.
“Goodbye my friend”
On February 14th, Logan Paul announced on X (formerly Twitter) that he had sold what he called “the greatest collectible in the world,” calling it a privilege to have owned it.
This trading card has had an incredible journey, appearing in everything from the Guinness World Records to WWE events, on Netflix, and even in national news stories. It’s been a truly remarkable run that’s captured the attention of an entire generation.

Paul announced the final auction of the card, hosted by Goldin, will be broadcast live on his YouTube channel on February 14th or 15th at 9 PM Eastern Time (6 PM Pacific Time / 2 AM GMT). During the livestream, he’ll also be opening over $1,500,000 worth of other Pokémon boxes.
As of writing, the Goldin auction stands at $5,100,000 with 36 hours remaining until close.
This feels like finishing a Pokémon game – defeating the Elite Four, seeing your name in the Hall of Fame, and then starting a new adventure. Now that this important item has been passed on, I’m looking forward to what comes next, like beginning a new Pokémon journey.
The Pikachu Illustrator card, originally a promotional item given away with a Japanese CoroCoro magazine in 1998, is considered one of the most rare Pokémon cards in existence.
Paul first became well-known when he bought the card and famously wore it during his first WWE appearance. He later achieved a Guinness World Record related to how much the card was worth.
In late 2025, Paul introduced his daughter to Pokemon collecting with an incredible gift: a perfect-condition Shining Magikarp card valued at $9,000.
