Lioness Season 2 Episode 2: Fort Liberty wants fresh meat

Lioness Season 2 Episode 2 recap: A new Lioness has a dangerous past

The story resumes in Lioness Season 2 Episode 2 as Joe and Kaitlyn embark on a journey to Fort Liberty. Here, they discuss strategies for recruiting a fresh Lioness member. They have potential candidates, but are yet to make a decision. This proposition infuriates Joe, who insists that the selection of the team should be solely his responsibility.

After leaving the boardroom in a huff, Kaitlyn later connects with Joe. She clarifies that she’s been assigned a fresh task, one that will undoubtedly draw attention from everyone. Joe requests three months to finish it, but instead, she’s only granted three weeks. As she prepares to depart once more to bid farewell to her family, a momentary worry arises when her youngest child, who was selling drawings on the sidewalk, is escorted into a van by two unfamiliar individuals.

Option A: Joe heads over to face them, but it turns out the situation was just innocuous. At home later, Kate challenges Joe on the news report from Episode 1, where Joe hesitantly admits he saved the congresswoman. When Kate wonders why Joe takes on his line of work, Joe shares a tale about his grandad at Pearl Harbor before explaining, “So you won’t need to learn Chinese or Russian.

Errol, the husband, expresses his highest level of worry regarding Joe’s job. His decision to stay in the U.S. hints at a more critical situation unfolding. Before departing, she attempts to reassure him, and they share a touching moment in the shower.

Los Tigres targets get closer than ever

At Bliss, the entire operation’s purpose is disclosed. The higher-ups are grappling with strategies to dismantle the Mexican drug cartel, Los Tigres – first encountered in Episode 1. This notorious group is controlled by a figure named Alvaro, whose brother Pablo practices law in the U.S. Intriguingly, Pablo’s daughter Josephina serves in the U.S. military. Given this unique connection, she seems an ideal candidate to join the Lioness team and bring them down from within.

Unfortunately for Joe and his team, Josephina is currently deployed in Iraq. It falls upon Joe to travel there, integrate Josephina into the team, regardless of the expenses involved. However, for this strategy to succeed, Josephina must consent to a public pretense, which would result in her leaving the military entirely.

If anyone were to delve into it thoroughly, there wouldn’t be any inconsistencies, but doing so could potentially damage the impeccable reputation Josephina has established over time.

This is all to get to the real target, a Chinese agent “pulling the strings” of Los Tigres. Kaitlyn, Edward, and other leaders reconvene to address the dangers of the plan, with Edward ultimately signing off on it as the right thing to do.

Joe and Josephina’s first meet is explosive

Despite initial expectations, things were far from peaceful upon Joe’s arrival in Iraq. Instead, he was met with an unexpected ambush by local soldiers, resulting in the death of a US soldier and several injuries. Upon reaching FOB Sykes, where Josephina is stationed, their relationship immediately soured. Josephina criticized Joe for his careless communication with base personnel, while Joe disclosed his true identity to her.

As the seasoned gamer I am, when I’m in charge at any virtual base, my teammates better brace themselves for a tough ride. The level of backup I require is beyond what most can provide, and let me tell you, they’d best hope I don’t show up.

Josephina suspects something significant is unfolding when she’s summoned to an office for interrogation about her past. She swears she’s never encountered Alvaro and only vaguely knows that her father has connections with a cartel. Upon learning that Joe heads the Lioness squad, she expresses displeasure.

Josephina finds her greatest joy on the field, yet insists she’s not adequately prepared to become a Lioness. The reason they don’t choose her isn’t due to lack of training; rather, it’s because of her connections and her ability to pilot a helicopter. When she turns down their offer, Josephina and someone else engage in a difficult exchange over whether Josephina truly loves her country.

Despite holding out for as long as possible, Josephina eventually expresses her affection for the United States and consents to join their team, symbolically becoming a ‘Lioness’. In the climactic moment of the story, Joe requests that Josephina demonstrate she has no tattoos – an issue that caused trouble for him way back in Season 1’s premiere episode.
