Line it is Drawn: Comic Characters Star in Classic Paintings

Hey there, fellow gaming enthusiast! Each week, I’ll drop a topic in this space. Feel free to chime in with your thoughts using the handle @csbg. Our talented artists will select one of your ideas, and every week, we’ll showcase their artwork inspired by your suggestions right here. So, you’ll have a fresh question to ponder every seven days, and you’ll get to see the selections from the previous week too! It’s an exciting opportunity for everyone to express their creativity!

59 pm Pacific Time on Sunday.

Feel free to connect with me on Bluesky too, where you can offer ideas just like here! I will share the prompts on both platforms, including Twitter.

The topic for next week’s Line is…

To celebrate Father’s Day, let’s imagine some heartwarming Father’s Day scenarios featuring beloved comic book dads and their children.

For instance, how about a fun day out for Batman and Robin, complete with a scavenger hunt in Gotham City to test the dynamic duo’s detective skills? Or perhaps a peaceful picnic in the Savage Land for the Fantastic Four family, where Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch, and their children could bond over family games and reminisce about their incredible adventures together.

Another idea could be a friendly football match between Spider-Man and his son, Peter Parker Jr., in Manhattan’s Central Park – with the Avengers serving as referees to keep things fair! And let’s not forget the annual family barbecue at the Fortress of Solitude for Superman and his son, Jon Kent. The Man of Steel could even teach young Jon a few Kryptonian martial arts moves while the rest of the family enjoys some quality time together.

These comic book celebrations serve as an inspiration for us to honor our real-life fathers by spending cherished moments with them this Father’s Day!

Read on for the drawings that came about courtesy of the last question/challenge!

Let me propose an intriguing scenario for the newcomers. Imagine if you could blend two different worlds: name a renowned piece of art and a popular comic book hero, and envision them making an unexpected appearance within that artwork!

Enjoy!
