Actress Lily James, known for her roles in “The Iron Claw” and “Baby Driver,” is slated to both star in and produce the movie “Photo Booth.” This will be the first directorial project for the Australian directing duo, Spencer and Lloyd Harvey.
The movie, characterized as an “intense emotional thriller that tackles the fundamental decisions we face concerning love, aspiration, and creating a family,” is set to appear at Cannes. HanWay is taking charge of international distribution, while UTA Independent Film Group is handling sales for North America.
In the upcoming production, James is set to portray Jean Bouchet, an acclaimed global artist who prioritizes her career over starting a family, while Raffey Cassidy, known for “The Brutalist” and “The Killing of a Sacred Deer,” will take on the role of Millie – a free-spirited young woman who is still discovering the complexities of life.
Cathy Konrad, known for “Girl Interrupted” and “Walk the Line,” along with her Tree Line Films, are joining forces with Parodos Productions owned by James & Gala Gordon (upcoming projects “Swiped” and “Cliffhanger”). This partnership will be extended to Carver Films, an Australian production company run by Sarah Shaw and Anna McLish, who have recently worked on films like “Relic” and “Run Rabbit Run.
