As a seasoned movie connoisseur who has watched countless Christmas movies over the years, I must say that Lifetime is truly shaking things up this holiday season with their latest offering – “A Carpenter Christmas Romance.” Having seen my fair share of G-rated Christmas films, it’s refreshing to see a network that dares to add a dash of spice to the traditional sugar cookie recipe.
Lifetime is continuing to add spice to their eggnog.
2023 saw the groundbreaking debut of “A Cowboy Christmas Romance,” a Christmas TV movie that made history by including a romantic scene, penned by me, Sarah Drew. This year, I’ve returned to create another heartwarming holiday tale for the network under my “It’s a Wonderful Lifetime” banner – and let me tell you, it’s even more enchantingly romantic than its predecessor!
Titled “A Carpenter Christmas Romance,” the show pairs Mitchell Slaggert and Sasha Pieterse, and it infuses a bit of spice into the traditional holiday spirit. At our recent Power of Women event in Los Angeles, this was shared with EbMaster on Thursday. The actress mentioned that there’s more heat this year compared to last, so brace yourselves! Mitchell Slaggert is quite the sight without his shirt, and he truly shines in his role… He brings such warmth and charm to the screen. Sasha Pieterse is equally impressive.
Despite the fact that typical holiday films on TV are generally family-friendly (G-rated), Drew recognizes that viewers crave something more. “I am part of that audience,” she stated. “It’s thrilling to witness Lifetime embracing a fresh, new genre for the Christmas season.
In Drew’s previous Christmas film, there was a passionate kissing sequence followed by a scene shift to the next day. Therefore, one might wonder if this new production will include an explicit love-making scene.
Absolutely, Pieterse playfully added. The dish is incredibly spicy, catching me off guard. That’s part of the reason I chose it. It was a refreshing change, something fun and new. I believe many people will find enjoyment in it, and perhaps even be slightly surprised. Christmas movies are delightful and comforting, after all, but adding a twist makes it more exciting. We certainly deliver on the ‘spice’ factor.
In this captivating tale, I found myself immersed in the world of Andrea, a gifted author seeking solace and inspiration at her ancestral farmhouse to complete her current literary masterpiece. The narrative takes an intriguing turn when she crosses paths with Seth, her former infatuation, who is lending his expert woodworking skills to aid in the town’s rebuilding efforts following a devastating fire. As their connection deepens amidst the picturesque countryside and shared struggles, I couldn’t help but be drawn into their heartwarming journey of rekindled feelings and new beginnings.
Drew pointed out that as Christmas is a celebration for all, let’s create films that can be enjoyed by everyone, which incorporate the spirit of Christmas.
This one has a bit of a spicy flavor. They used to be together, but he hurt her in the past and now they’re reconciling.
