Don’t Nod, the studio behind the popular Life is Strange series, has partnered with Netflix to develop a new story-driven game based on one of Netflix’s major franchises. Details are limited right now, but fans immediately speculated it could be a Life is Strange-style game set in the world of Stranger Things, especially with the final season of that show premiering next month. This seems like a natural fit given Don’t Nod’s expertise and Netflix’s strong properties.
Don’t Nod signs an agreement to make a narrative game with Netflix
Netflix has been working to expand into gaming for a while now, but as Amazon recently demonstrated, it’s a challenging undertaking, even for large, well-funded companies. To be fair, Netflix already offers a solid library of mobile games with a subscription—including popular indie titles like Hades, Dead Cells, Terra Nil, Oxenfree, Monument Valley, and Moonlighter. However, these are games available on Netflix, not games made by Netflix. Developing their own games hasn’t progressed as easily.

Netflix initially aimed to create its own large-scale game studio, but closed it down after only two years, according to Game File. However, Netflix is still committed to gaming, as evidenced by their partnership with Don’t Nod. It seems they’re now focusing on having other studios develop bigger games instead of making them in-house.
Shinobi602, a source known for video game news, shared the information on social media. Fans immediately began discussing what this could mean, with many commenting “Life is Stranger Things,” suggesting a possible crossover. For now, we can only guess what this collaboration might involve. Will the game feature familiar characters, or will it tell a new story with a new cast?
Fans have been suggesting different properties for Don’t Nod to turn into a game, including the popular Netflix series Wednesday and the musical film K-Pop Demon Hunters. While the hit show Squid Game has also been mentioned, it’s already been adapted into games and might not be the best fit for a story-driven experience. Still, any of these options could work!
