Lies of P Will Soon Let You Choose How Difficult You Want The Game To Be

Neowiz Developers have unveiled plans to introduce adjustable difficulty levels for the Lies of P game in their forthcoming Overture update. This move aims to expand the game’s reach, catering to various skill levels, and it’s a response partially driven by player suggestions.

According to game director Jiwon Choi (as reported to VGC), our goal was to ensure that a larger group of gamers could enjoy playing the game. To achieve this, we’ve tweaked the development process and added difficulty settings, catering to various types of players. This expansion in options will help us reach a wider player base.

After the Overture expansion’s release, along with the update, you’ll have the chance to select from two fresh gameplay challenge levels: Butterfly’s Guidance and Awakened Puppet. In the upcoming patch, the current default difficulty level will be renamed to “Legendary Stalker.” For players seeking a tougher experience, they can participate in a boss fight series with increasing difficulty levels. Furthermore, the new Death March mode presents an intense gauntlet of boss battles, limiting your health and inventory.

For quite some time, the challenge levels in souls-like games have sparked heated debates among gamers. While From Software, the creators of Dark Souls and Elden Ring, tend to avoid including adjustable difficulty settings in their games, other studios offer a broader range of options to make gameplay more accessible. A notable example is Stellar Blade, which draws inspiration from Sekiro and provides multiple difficulty modes as well as helpful gameplay features. On the other end of the spectrum, Steel Rising by Spiders offers settings that effectively transform the game into an easy victory.

In the upcoming season, the game “Lies of P: Overture” is set to debut on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. According to Neowiz, players can anticipate spending around 15 to 20 hours playing through this game from start to finish.
