Leighton Meester, Quenlin Blackwell Join Rachel Sennott’s HBO Comedy Pilot (EXCLUSIVE)

As a dedicated cinephile who has spent countless hours immersed in the world of film and television, I am thrilled to share my perspective on the recent casting news of Leighton Meester and Quenlin Blackwell in Rachel Sennott’s HBO comedy pilot, “EbMaster.”

Leighton Meester and Quenlin Blackwell have been announced as new additions to the cast of Rachel Sennott’s HBO comedy pilot “EbMaster,” according to our exclusive sources.

As a devoted cinema enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that I’ll be seeing two familiar faces grace our screens alongside Sennott in the upcoming pilot. Joining them will be Odessa A’zion, Jordan Firstman, Miles Robbins, and True Whitaker. This captivating project was lucky enough to be chosen up by HBO way back in March.

A close-knit group of friends who were once codependent on each other reconvene, exploring how their individual journeys of growth, professional advancement, and fresh romances have transformed them.

Meester gained significant recognition for portraying a role in the popular CW show “Gossip Girl” during its six-season tenure. More recently, she has appeared in TV projects such as “Single Parents” on ABC and “How I Met Your Father” on Hulu. Additionally, she featured in the latest adaptation of “River Wild,” acting alongside her spouse Adam Brody and fellow “Single Parents” cast member Taran Killam. Furthermore, her film credits include “The Judge” and “By the Gun.”

She is repped by UTA and The Lede Company.

As a movie buff, I’d put it this way: I’m thrilled to see Blackwell making her acting debut in the pilot of the new series. With a massive following of 9.8 million on TikTok, 2.3 million on Instagram, and almost 1.5 million subscribers on YouTube, she’s already a social media sensation. I can’t wait to see how she translates her charisma and influence from the digital screen to the big one!

She is repped by WME, Nixon Peabody and 3Arts Entertainment.

Sennott not only acts in it, but also contributes as a writer and executive producer for the pilot’s production. Lorene Scafaria takes the helm as director and executive producer. Additionally, Emma Barrie and Aida Rodgers join the team as executive producers.

Previously, Sennott has made appearances in HBO shows such as “The Idol” and “High Maintenance.” More recently, she teamed up with Ayo Edebri for both the starring roles and co-writing credit in the 2023 comedy film “Bottoms.” The two had previously collaborated on Comedy Central’s “Ayo and Rachel are Single.” Sennott’s acting resume also includes roles in “Bodies, Bodies, Bodies” and “Shiva Baby.”
