LEGO lets us assemble the iconic Gotham Hospital. Arkham Asylum set leaked, and soon will go on official sale

The heat of summer continues, yet LEGO shows no signs of stopping. A new announcement has emerged from the Danish company, revealing that soon we can expand our collection to include Arkham Asylum. This is a mental hospital famously depicted in Batman comics, as well as the video game titled Batman: Arkham Asylum.

On September 9th, building #76300, which includes nearly 3,000 LEGO pieces, will join their collection and will cost $299.99.

Down with jumpsuits

As a devoted DC fan and gamer, I’ve got to admit that this project looks promising, but there are certain aspects that have me scratching my head. The interior of the building, for one, is a mystery since it isn’t visible in the photos. Additionally, some fans have voiced concerns about the quality of the figures, which seem to be the weakest link of the set, at least from a quick glance.

The construction appears quite impressive, considering its size and aesthetic appeal. Adding an extra level to it would have been advantageous, as the modular nature of this base plate is particularly beneficial when it comes to height, much like the Ninjago cities. Thus, I believe an additional floor could have enhanced its design.

But the minifigs suck, im sorry but WHAT HAVE THEY DONE TO MY BOY CROC

God I hate the jumpsuits so much.

As a dedicated fan, one concern that has surfaced among us is the perceived lack of darkness in the latest build. Given that it’s explicitly designed for mature builders aged 18 and above, we were expecting a more intense and grown-up vibe.

Frankly, I had anticipated a more sophisticated and somber appearance, reminiscent of the latest Transylvanian set from the BrickLink Designer Series.

Fortunately, if you have reservations about this project’s appearance, there are numerous other options available. For example, Batman: The Animated Series Gotham City or Batcave – Shadow Box could be intriguing alternatives. If you prefer a dose of nostalgia, Soundwave from the classic Transformers series is soon to be part of the LEGO collection as well. Essentially, there’s something for every preference.
