A new Lego Batman game, Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, is coming next year, and we just got a new trailer at The Game Awards! It’s scheduled to be released on May 29, 2026. However, the version for the new Nintendo Switch 2 will be available later in 2026.
The latest trailer reveals even more of the Lego Batman hero, along with a sneak peek at his allies – Catwoman, Robin, Batgirl, and Nightwing. Each character has unique powers based on who they are, like Catwoman summoning a cat to help her fight. Fans also get a look at classic Batmobiles and other Batman vehicles, including the Batpod from The Dark Knight.
This is the first Lego Batman game since 2014’s Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham. It feels like a fun, Lego-themed version of the classic Batman movies. The gameplay is similar to the Arkham series, letting you use stealth and well-timed combat to protect Gotham City. The game is easy to pick up, with generous timing for blocking attacks, but skilled players can make it more challenging for a truly detective-worthy experience.
Steve Watts was happily surprised by the new Lego Batman game, Legacy of the Dark Knight, after playing it earlier this year. He compared TT Games’ approach to taking a Lego set apart and rebuilding it into something new, suggesting they’re creatively reimagining the Batman universe and he’s excited to see what they come up with next.
