Juggernaut is unexpectedly appearing in the newest Avengers movie, joining forces with powerful characters like Magneto and the Hulk. Fans will be happy to see he’s wearing a version of his iconic costume, and is teaming up with a great group of heroes.
As a comic book movie fan, I’ve seen a few different takes on Juggernaut over the years. Vinnie Jones first brought him to life in X-Men: The Last Stand, and then Ryan Reynolds lent his voice to the character in the hilarious Deadpool 2. Interestingly, Jones was actually asked to reprise the role in the upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine, but he turned it down! Apparently, getting into that suit is a real ordeal – he described it as “such a drama”! It’s a shame, but I can definitely understand prioritizing comfort.
Juggernaut is a powerful foe of the X-Men, and many are hoping to see him in the next Avengers: Secret Wars movie. But before that happens, fans will get a different opportunity to experience the character’s incredible strength…
Marvel Has Revealed What New Avengers Special’s Juggernaut Looks Like
I just finished watching LEGO Marvel Avengers: Strange Tails on Disney+, and it was a blast! The story centers around the Avengers facing off against the Sphinx, who’s trying to control everyone’s minds. But the coolest part? Hawkeye puts together this awesome team of cat-themed heroes – Tigra, White Tiger, Black Cat, and even Juggernaut makes an appearance! Definitely worth checking out if you’re a Marvel fan.
Before facing Sphinx, the Avengers first encounter Magneto and his Brotherhood of Mutants. Jason Alexander voices the iconic leader, and he’s joined by familiar foes like Pyro, Sabretooth, and Juggernaut, with Rob Riggle providing the voice for the latter.
Juggernaut’s outfit is based on his traditional comic book look, featuring brown armor, a rounded helmet, and protective bracers and knuckledusters.
How Does The New Avengers Special’s Juggernaut Compare To Other Versions Of The Marvel Antihero?
Although Juggernaut has teamed up with the Brotherhood of Mutants in comic books several times, he’s a bit of a strange fit because he isn’t actually a mutant himself. His powers originally come from a magical gem inhabited by a demon named Cyttorak, who fuels his abilities based on the amount of destruction he creates.
Juggernaut is usually shown as a simple, powerful brute, but he’s actually a more complex character. His difficult childhood, marked by an abusive father, left him with a deep distrust of authority. He especially resents his step-brother, Xavier, because their father showed Xavier favor during their brief time together.
These days, Juggernaut in comic books is often portrayed as a hero, even fighting alongside the X-Men for mutant rights. However, the recent LEGO Marvel Avengers: Strange Tails seems to focus on the character’s simpler, less intelligent side, much like his previous movie appearance. Hopefully, Juggernaut will eventually be recognized for his more complex traits.
