What to know:
- The FUEL token has a maximum supply of 10 billion tokens, with 1 billion tokens being airdropped to early users.
- It claims to be the fastest and cheapest Ethereum rollup, with up to 600 transactions per second (TPS).
As a seasoned crypto investor with a knack for identifying promising projects and a keen eye for scalability, I find myself intrigued by Fuel. With its ambitious claims of being the fastest and cheapest Ethereum rollup, it’s hard not to take notice.
Starting December 19th, Fuel – a second-tier network on Ethereum – has revealed that it will start accepting claims for its native token. Over 200,000 qualified wallets stand to receive approximately 10% of the total supply of tokens.
For approximately four weeks, you’ll have the opportunity to make airdrop claims. Here’s how the allocation will break down:
Fuel, a scalability solution on Ethereum, touts itself as the quickest and most affordable rollup option. It can handle up to 600 transactions per second (TPS) at roughly $0.0002 per transaction. This high speed is achieved through parallelization, minimizing state data, and ensuring interoperability. To put things in perspective, Arbitrum, the largest layer-2 by Total Value Locked (TVL), has managed an average of 27.6 TPS over the past day, while Base is currently averaging about 90 TPS, as per L2BEAT statistics.
In Phase 2, users on our network can continue earning “rewards,” which are equivalent to “FUEL tokens.” The total number of these tokens will cap at 10 billion. Eventually, these earned rewards can be exchanged for the actual FUEL token.
Over the last day, the block explorer for our fuel reveals that it has handled approximately 154,000 transactions and currently hosts around 63 operational decentralized apps.
