Ever since the most recent Sims 4 update rolled out, players have stumbled upon some peculiar glitches – quite unusual, even by Sims’ standards. Particularly after the latest patch that added burglar Robin Banks to the game, it seems child and baby Sims are showing up as if they’re pregnant, sporting beer bellies, or displaying unusually muscular physiques.
It has been observed on a forum known as The Sims subreddit, and subsequently reported by Eurogamer, that certain players are encountering an unusual situation where their digital child characters within The Sims game are inexplicably showing up pregnant. One user even mentioned that this bug seems to be affecting every male child character in their specific game.
Umm guys… My kid is pregnant…

Since today’s patch all the male children in my game have pregnant bellies.

It seems that the issue is purely aesthetic – the digital children in the Sims haven’t been programmed with a real-life pregnancy state, thus they won’t physically deliver other Sims. However, aesthetics, particularly visuals, often play a crucial role for many gamers in games like this one.
Other contributions in the Sims subreddit hint at an increased number of visual issues specifically impacting younger Sim characters. One user shared a series of pictures featuring unusually muscular infants, while another posted a child Sim who appears to be quite fitness-focused, as if they’ve been working out extensively.
I got a ton of buff babies

my kid is a bodybuilder?

One Reddit user proposed a theory that the game might be confusing child and adult body structures, incorrectly applying adult muscle mass, paunches, or pregnant bellies to young and baby Sims. It’s simple enough to correct an adult Sim with the wrong body type, but the lack of customization options for child Sims makes this glitch challenging to bypass. Players have found that even reverting a Sim back to childhood after aging doesn’t seem to resolve the distorted body issue, as reported through their trials.
In The Sims game, there have been instances of amusingly strange glitches, such as the one that made infants develop abnormally long limbs when the new life stage was launched. However, Electronic Arts (EA) has a tendency to overlook these bugs, causing players to worry about how long they’ll persist. Although this specific bug hasn’t been acknowledged by EA, they invite players to report issues on their forums, where a discussion is ongoing about deformed bodies in child Sims characters.
EA has brought back The Sims and The Sims 2 as Legacy Editions, packed with all their additional content. Yet, these re-launches came with a few glitches that have been causing issues for players. As of now, a team from the Sims community is looking into the problems found in these legacy games.
