Microsoft has released Mortal Kombat 1 to Xbox and PC Game Pass subscribers, completing almost all of the games promised for the first half of the month. Players with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, or standard PC Game Pass can now play the game.
Mortal Kombat 1 is the latest installment in the hugely popular and famously violent Mortal Kombat series, and it’s also a fresh start for the story. It’s a key game for Warner Bros. Games, alongside major franchises like Game of Thrones, Harry Potter, and DC Comics. The creators at NetherRealm Studios have reimagined the universe, bringing back classic fighters and introducing a whole new cast of characters.
The game still features the fast-paced arena battles and powerful finishing moves fans expect, but the developers have also included several exciting new elements. These include a revamped combat system, updated character designs, and the addition of Kameo Fighters – helpful partner characters who join the fight.
Players and critics both responded favorably to the game.
Mortal Kombat 1 is performing very well commercially and has received strong reviews overall.
It currently has an average Metacritic score between 82 and 84 out of 100, varying slightly by platform, and enjoys “mostly positive” reviews on Steam.
