In a series of impressive collaborations, the nine-year-old survival horror game Dead by Daylight has been consistently expanding its roster. Most recently, we welcomed the Tokyo Ghoul killer, followed closely by the much-anticipated Five Nights at Freddy’s Chapter. These additions have significantly boosted the game’s popularity, drawing in over 120,000 simultaneous players on Steam at its peak (according to SteamDB).
Now, another exciting collaboration is on the horizon: The Walking Dead Chapter is set to join Dead by Daylight, introducing two new characters – Rick and Michonne. Along with these iconic figures come three unique perks, one of which appears to be a popular choice for many players’ builds, called Last Stand.
Last Stand in DBD explained
The latest enhancements in The Walking Dead’s newest chapter are quite intriguing. Among these additions, Apocalyptic Ingenuity and Conviction significantly boost the gameplay experience. However, one standout skill that truly sets itself apart is Last Stand, introducing a fresh dynamic to the game – a stun through vaulting. So, what exactly does this perk entail? Let’s delve into its details to better understand its functionality.
When you remain near a Killer outside of their pursuit for 80, 70, or 60 seconds, and then quickly jump over an obstacle (fast-vault), you can momentarily stun the Killer if they are within 2.5, 2.5, or 2.5 meters. However, this perk will not function for the remainder of the match following this use.
In the heat of battle as I activate the Last Stand perk, the vault springs to life with a unique spectacle. This nifty trick allows me to save another survivor, much like dropping a pallet or using a flashlight. Wielded wisely, it becomes an indispensable asset. Yet, be mindful, as this power can only be summoned once per match. Thus, every use should count.
At present, the features for characters Rick and Michonne can only be found on Public Test Servers through Steam. To gain access, simply right-click on ‘Dead by Daylight’ in your Steam Library, select Properties, click the “Betas” tab, and choose “public-test”. It is important to note that while Michonne isn’t playable as a survivor at this moment, she will become available on main servers starting July 29th. Both characters should be ready for gameplay by then.
