Clear History Is A Must-Watch For Curb Your Enthusiasm Fans
In 2013, HBO released the comedy movie Clear History, starring and co-written by Larry David. Directed by Greg Mottola, who also directed popular films like Superbad and Adventureland, the movie feels like a continuation of the world of Curb Your Enthusiasm.
In the show Clear History, David plays Nathan, a former marketing executive who regrets leaving the company he helped create. He missed out on a huge payout – a billion dollars, in fact. Years later, he’s living a low-key life on Martha’s Vineyard under the name Rolly, and he’s looking for a way to get back at his old boss, Will, who is played by Jon Hamm and has just moved to the island.
Although David doesn’t play an exaggerated version of himself like he did on Curb Your Enthusiasm, the characters Nathan and Rolly are very similar to his classic, witty, and cynical style. Clear History has the same kind of humor that made Curb so popular, making it a great choice for fans who miss the show and want something new to watch.

Though Larry David leads the surprisingly funny movie Clear History – it’s far better than its 59% rating on Rotten Tomatoes would indicate – the film’s biggest strength is its incredible supporting cast. Alongside Jon Hamm and Kate Hudson (who received an Oscar nomination in 2026), the movie features comedic talents like Michael Keaton, Bill Hader, and Danny McBride, all well-known from other popular shows and films.
Beyond Jon Hamm, Clear History boasts a fantastic cast including Eva Mendes, Amy Ryan, Paul Scheer, J.B. Smoove, and Philip Baker Hall, with fun cameos from Conan O’Brien and Peter Farrelly.
