Konami's Edens Zero console action RPG is coming to Xbox Series X and PC in 2025 (Update: also on PS5 & Steam)

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of gaming under my belt, I must say that the upcoming Edens Zero console action RPG has piqued my interest like never before! The combination of Konami, Hiro Mashima’s beloved creations, and a 3D action RPG is simply irresistible.

Following a few days since the Xbox-exclusive unveiling, Konami has officially launched their website and trailer for their forthcoming console action RPG titled “Edens Zero”. It’s now been confirmed that the game will indeed release on PlayStation 5. Furthermore, the PC version of the game will be accessible not only through Microsoft Store but also on Steam.

Today, Konami Digital Entertainment BV officially revealed that Hiro Mashima’s (creator of FAIRY TAIL and RAVE MASTER) work will be adapted into a game titled EDENS ZERO by Konami. In October 2024, during the Xbox Partner Preview, there’s a surprise trailer for an action RPG based on Japanese anime – Edens Zero. This game is set to debut on the Xbox Series X|S and PC in 2025.

Microsoft has created an Xbox page dedicated to the game, while Konami’s details suggest continued development of the game as a 3D action role-playing title. Additionally, the trailer hints at the possibility for players to manage characters other than the main character, Shiki Granbell.

As a gaming enthusiast, I always double-check the system requirements when planning to play a new game on my PC. Fortunately, the Xbox page offers clear guidelines, listing both the minimum and recommended specifications, making it easier for me to ensure my rig can handle the upcoming game smoothly.

We haven’t seen the console action RPG from Konami since its initial unveiling at Tokyo Game Show 2020. Instead, the company mainly concentrated on a mobile game that was launched concurrently. This game turned out to be Edens Zero Pocket Galaxy, which went global on February 24, 2022. However, this mobile game had a short lifespan, as Konami closed it down earlier in 2024 on February 29.

The Xbox Partner Preview for the Edens Zero console game occurred much later in Japan’s time zone, and as of now, Konami headquarters in Japan hasn’t uploaded their own trailer or website related to the event.
