‘Kneecap’ Gets Re-Release in 154 U.S. Theaters (EXCLUSIVE)

As a connoisseur of indie films and hip hop music, I must say that “Kneecap” has truly struck a chord with me. The film’s success in both the U.S. and UK markets is a testament to its universal appeal, especially given the band’s strong following in Ireland.

The movie titled ‘Kneecap’, showcasing the lively hip hop trio of the same name, is making its grand comeback to cinemas. Originally distributed by Sony Pictures Classics, this independent film has garnered over $1 million in the U.S. and close to $2 million in the UK, where the Irish rap group enjoys a devoted fanbase. This weekend, ‘Kneecap’ will be re-released in 154 theaters nationwide.

The theatrical revival aligns with the band’s upcoming tour of the U.S. this month, which is aimed at promoting their latest album titled “Fine Art.” Their itinerary includes performances in cities such as Philadelphia, New York, Boston, Chicago, Louisville, and Washington D.C.

In the movie, the band members Naoise Ó Cairealláin (also known as Móglaí Bap), Liam Óg Ó Hannaidh (Mo Chara), and JJ Ó Dochartaigh (Dj Provaí) all make appearances playing themselves. In addition, the film also features Michael Fassbender, Josie Walker, Fionnuala Flaherty, Jessica Reynolds, Adam Best, and Simone Kirby. This year, the movie has been chosen to represent Ireland in the running for the Academy Award for best international feature.

I’m thrilled to share that the movie will be back on the big screen in some of the country’s most vibrant cities, including Universal City, California; Phoenix, Arizona; San Diego, California; Miami, Florida; Orlando, Florida; Atlanta, Georgia; Chicago, Illinois; New Orleans, Louisiana; Boston, Massachusetts; Kansas City, Kansas; Las Vegas, Nevada; Dublin, Ohio; Tulsa, Oklahoma; Knoxville, Tennessee; Houston, Texas; New York, New York; and San Francisco, California. Can’t wait to immerse myself in the magic of the cinema again!

The film titled “Kneecap” was crafted under the guidance of director Peppiatt, based on a shared story concept with Ó Cairealláin, Óg Ó Hannaidh, and Ó Dochartaigh. Trevor Birney and Jack Tarling were responsible for its production.
