As a passionate cinephile with a deep appreciation for films that delve into the human condition and the intricacies of everyday life, I am absolutely thrilled about the acquisition of “Holy Cow” by Kino Lorber in association with Zeitgeist Films. Having spent years working on farms myself, I can attest to the hardships and joys that come with this way of life, and I’m eager to see how Louise Courvoisier masterfully captures those nuances on screen.

The film titled “Holy Cow,” which was first screened at the Un Certain Regard section of the Cannes Film Festival, has been acquired by Kino Lorber along with Zeitgeist Films for the distribution rights in the United States and English-speaking Canada.

As a seasoned movie enthusiast with a keen interest in stories that delve into the human condition, I find myself captivated by films that explore the lives of ordinary people facing extraordinary circumstances. The heartwarming film “The Big Son” is no exception. Having grown up on a farm myself, I can relate to the hardscrabble life depicted in this movie, which is set in the picturesque Jura region of France.

The spirit of the times intends to showcase the movie at every festival and is getting ready for a premiere at Film Forum during the first three months of 2025, with a subsequent nationwide theater release following this.

Emily Russo and Nancy Gerstman, co-presidents of Zeitgeist, expressed that the movie was an emotionally moving piece, skillfully performed, directed, filmed, and scored beautifully. They added that it offered a visual treat, or in other words, a delicious feast for those who appreciate fine food (foodies).

Pyramide’s sales head Agathe Mauruc expressed joy that ‘Holy Cow’ will be released in the U.S. by Zeitgeist and Kino Lorber. She is optimistic about the movie, especially since it has a distinct French flavor and tells a captivating story centered around renowned Comté cheese.
