Summary
- Mods are making Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2’s Hardcore Mode even more punishing.
- Players are starting Hardcore Mode with all negative perks or just 1 HP.
- Extreme players can combine 1 HP, all negative perks, and permanent death mods for the ultimate challenge.
A week ago, Warhorse Studios introduced the ‘Hardcore Mode’ in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. This mode streamlined the game significantly, eliminating features like the on-screen compass for navigation, disabling fast travel options, and enforcing a few unavoidable unfavorable traits.
Some players have graciously acknowledged that the new mode gave them quite a run for their money, yet others appear eager to endure even greater challenges. Scarcely a week has passed since its debut, and these self-proclaimed enthusiasts are already brainstorming methods to amplify the intensity of Hardcore Mode.
Hardcore Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Players Are Making Hardcore Mode More Hardcore

Following its debut, several mods have popped up on Nexus Mods. These mods are specifically designed to intensify the challenge in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2’s Hardcore Mode.
In this novel mode, players will encounter several unfavorable advantages that they must select three from. One of these is called ‘Bad Back’, which reduces your load-carrying capacity by half. Another is ‘Numbskull’, which decreases the rate at which you earn experience points by 40 percent. Lastly, there’s ‘Sweaty’, where your clothes get dirty 50 percent quicker and people can detect your scent from twice the normal distance. All of these perks come with some quite significant drawbacks within the gameplay.
Instead of being satisfied with how detrimental these advantages can be, a player has devised and shared a mod called “EXTREME HARDCORE: START WITH ALL NEGATIVE PERKS”. As you would guess, this mode initiates your Hardcore Mode gameplay with all ten negative perks already activated, significantly increasing the level of challenge. The use of capital letters in the mod name clearly signals to players what they can expect from the experience.
A second mod takes things a step further, though.
In this ‘Hardcore HP – 1 Percent’ mod, the character Henry will only have one unit of health throughout the game. So if he falls from a slightly elevated platform, it’s game over. Catching food poisoning or getting involved in a bar brawl also means saying goodbye to Henry.
One misstep with an HP (HP stands for Hit Point) can be catastrophic, and this modification makes it crucial that you don’t make any mistakes during your entire gameplay.
If you’re particularly fond of challenging experiences, there’s an option called ‘Permanent Death’ mod that could intensify your gameplay in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. As its name suggests, this mod carries out its purpose faithfully – once you perish in the game, you forfeit all the progress you’ve made so far. When integrated with other difficult modes, it promises an exceptionally tough and immersive gaming journey.
