Some found that Kingdom Come: Deliverance II started with an unexpectedly challenging level of difficulty. Yet, it seems Warhorse Studios had even more challenges in store, as evidenced by the latest Patch 1.2.4 release, which introduces a tougher Hardcore mode for those truly committed to KCD2 gameplay.
In this new mode unveiled recently, referred to as “Hardcore”, Henry of Skalitz encounters numerous additional challenges throughout his journey. This includes the prohibition of quick-travel and a set of detrimental traits that players must opt for at the game’s outset. These unfavorable characteristics include Sweaty, which intensifies Henry’s body odor when he neglects bathing, Bashful, disabling Henry’s ability to seek guidance from villagers, and Somnambulant, causing Henry to sleepwalk—leaving him waking up in completely different locations whenever he lies down to rest.
As a gamer, I’m excited about Patch 1.4.2! It brings some tweaks and adjustments to the regular gaming experience that I play in. For instance, herb prices have been rebalanced, there’s a fresh new hairstyle for Henry, and save-file problems that Xbox gamers like me were facing have been sorted out. The detailed notes for Patch 1.4.2 can be found below.
On February 4, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II was released to widespread praise, with an average rating of 88 across Metacritic. TopMob’s review awarded it a score of 9/10, describing it as “irresistibly captivating” and praising its ability to seamlessly blend medieval drama with everyday humor in a world that feels authentically alive.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is available now on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
