In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, the Kuttenberg Tournament returns as a reoccurring, weekly sidestory. You can engage in this quest once you’ve finished the primary mission titled “Ars Dimicatoria.
At the Kuttenberg Brotherhood, led by Menhard, this competition provides an opportunity for participants to demonstrate their martial prowess by engaging in formal dueling matches.
Winning the tournament brings a substantial reward of groschen, as well as a high-quality item, encompassing weapons and armor.
In this tournament, the rules might seem simple, but small mistakes could result in your disqualification, regardless of how well you perform in battle. To help you avoid any pitfalls, here’s a rundown of essential information.
How to Start the Kuttenberg Tournament

Once I’ve wrapped up Ars Dimicatoria, I can swing by the bustling heart of the city to chat with Menhard, a fellow swordsman who hangs out at the grand Kuttenberg Swordfighting Guild hall. The place is easy to spot, just keep an eye out for those vibrant yellow and orange flags waving high!
When you chat with Menhard, he’ll offer you a chance to sign up for one to three activities, where participating in each event costs 100 groschen as an entrance fee.

Hardy will let you know how many game-days are left until the tournament starts. You can pass these days by spending 30 pennies for a quick wait or 100 pennies for a longer one, which instantly advances time and places you right into the beginning of the tournament’s cutscene.
Should you choose to pass the time manually, feel free to engage in additional tasks like finishing side missions or collecting treasures. However, don’t forget to keep track of the date, as you might overlook the tournament otherwise. This is particularly crucial if you’re playing in hardcore mode and are unable to teleport.
In the realm of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, I’ve found that some quests can be quite tricky with their timing. During certain storyline events or encounters, time might swiftly advance, and if you’re not careful, you could easily miss out on key happenings like tournaments. But fear not! If you do happen to miss the Kuttenberg Tournament, don’t sweat it—the tournament will be back in a week, giving you another chance to strut your stuff!
Winning the Tournament

At the Kuttenberg Tournament, there are three distinct forms of combat: sword and shield, longsword, and free style. To participate in any category, Henry must win a minimum of two matches (best out of three) for each, resulting in 4 to 6 battles during the event.
In tournaments involving sword-and-shield, longsword, or similar events, the necessary equipment will be provided for you to use. This means that during these competitions, your own gear should be set aside temporarily. However, during the free combat segment, Henry is allowed to utilize his personal weapons and armor.
Engaging in both sword-and-shield battles as well as longsword duels necessitates having two distinct sets of equipment allocated to each scenario. Ensure that you switch your gear with the armorer during breaks to avoid any confusion. Neglecting this or participating in the wrong fight with incorrect gear may lead the guild to suspect theft and impose a fine of 500 groschen on you.

Using this could provide you a significant advantage, but be careful not to alter it where others might notice, since being found out would lead to disqualification or even more severe consequences.
Make sure to show up on schedule for your upcoming match. Being tardy means you’ll lose your spot in the competition, regardless of your previous performance.
Choosing Your Reward

After triumphing in a Kuttenberg Tournament competition, Henry will be guided to the prize zone where three treasure chests have been prepared. Each chest corresponds to one of the event categories. To claim your reward, simply open the chest that aligns with the type of duel you engaged in. This will be clearly marked and labeled as the “take” action rather than “steal.

Every triumph yields 200 groschen together with an uncommon top-tier armor or weapon as a reward, and certain exceptional gear like the sought-after Kuttenberg Longsword can only be obtained by participating in and winning the tournament itself. These one-of-a-kind items are what make the Kuttenberg Tournament an attractive pastime for players who are enthusiastic about gathering rare equipment and honing their combat skills.
