Kill Tony dethrones Joe Rogan as top YouTube podcast thanks to Adam Ray

Due to comedian Adam Ray’s recent character portrayal mirroring the host of the show, Tony Hinchcliffe, “Kill Tony” has risen to become YouTube’s most popular podcast.

Stand-up comedian Adam Ray, recognized for his impressions of well-known personalities and political figures, frequently appears on the podcast “Kill Tony.

In a more simplified manner: One of his best-known characters is Dr. Phil, which he began portraying in comedic skits starting from 2019.

On the 7th of July, Ray decided to try something fresh and donned a Tony Hinchcliffe costume to host Kill Tony. Incredibly, he perfectly mimicked the host’s style in what might just be his finest performance to date.

His exceptional performance, alongside guests Ari Shaffir and Mark Normand, catapulted the podcast to number one on YouTube’s charts, dethroning Joe Rogan from his leading position.

Adam Ray’s Tony Hinchcliffe parody knocks Joe Rogan from YouTube’s top spot

The weekly-updated rankings on YouTube for podcasts position Kill Tony at the number one spot within the United States, pushing Joe Rogan down to second place.

Ranking third is The MeidasTouch Podcast, then comes 48 Hours, followed by a trio: The Why Files: Operation Podcast, All of ‘Em’, The Diary Of A CEO, Shawn Ryan Show, and The Tucker Carlson Show. Next up is Smosh Reads Reddit Stories, with Rotten Mango concluding the top 10 list.

Currently, as I’m typing this, Episode KT #726 ranks as the 26th most-watched episode throughout the entire podcast timeline. The program releases fresh content weekly, but it briefly interrupted its 12-year run to air a Netflix special.

Adam Ray’s spot-on impersonation of Tony, particularly his distinctive laugh, catchphrases, facial gestures, and quirks, was an enormous success.

His impressions have made a huge impact on both the comedy world and Kill Tony.

In the year 2024, Ray took on the role of Joe Biden during an episode of Kill Tony, with Shane Gillis portraying Donald Trump, resulting in their performance becoming the show’s most-watched episode ever.

As a gamer, I’d put it like this: Ever since my spot-on Dr Phil impersonation scored me a stand-up comedy gig on ‘Dr Phil Live’ on Netflix, I found myself squaring off against the real Dr Phil! Talk about surreal moments!
