Jon Hamm’s speech on “Saturday Night Live” humorously discussed his numerous appearances throughout the show over time, which were unexpectedly disrupted by his long-standing friend-rival, Kieran Culkin.
Hamm pointed out that although a cameo might appear insignificant at first glance, it plays a crucial role in the performance. He likened it to the finishing touch that elevates an average sketch to something more engaging, or the burst of energy required to give direction to a monologue that seemed aimless.
Culkin then enters the stage in a meta moment.
“What are you even doing here? This is my monologue,” Hamm said.
“I know, I’m just making a cameo
“Why? I’m a huge star and I’m doing really well all by myself.”
Hamm then demands Culkin’s Oscar as the two squabble if “Mad Men” is better than “Succession.”
Right now, Culkin is residing in New York City due to his lead part in the Broadway production titled “Death of a Salesman.
