Kick Streamer Fined for Vandalizing Grand Canyon Landmark

A live streamer on Kick was penalized with a substantial fee following his actions of etching ‘KICK.COM’ onto a historic site, the Grand Canyon’s ancient landmark.

Streamer ‘CrazyTawn’ (also known as Thanh Cong Ngo) has found himself in a sticky situation following his live-stream of his visit to the Grand Canyon, which took place in early 2025.

On January 5th, it was claimed by an unidentified source who was viewing his live stream, Ngo was present at Horseshoe Bend, a well-known tourist spot and iconic landmark located in Page, Arizona.

Over vast periods of time, a curvature developed, characterized by a towering plateau situated at the center of a U-shaped bend in a river nestled inside a canyon, which is why it’s called as such.

Although the live broadcast is no longer playable from Ngo’s channel, the informant asserted that the streamer etched ‘KICK.COM’ onto some sandstone in the vicinity, according to an affidavit sourced by The Independent.

According to records, the sculpture is approximately 3 feet long, 6 inches high, and a quarter-inch thick. The declaration indicates that Ngo deliberately crafted this sculpture without regard for the conservation of natural assets.

According to the statement, the video clearly captures the individual acting alone, deliberately damaging the sandstone monument using a tiny stone. The person exerted considerable energy to carve the inscription more deeply into the stone, repeatedly applying pressure and friction to the area.

A park ranger from the National Park Service approached Ngo, following a report from a tipster. This encounter was live-streamed by Ngo on his channel with around 30,000 followers.

According to the affidavit, Ngo conceded to damaging the sandstone while speaking with the park ranger. He explained that he didn’t realize it was forbidden, and given that there was other damage nearby, he believed it was acceptable to carry out his actions.

The live-streamer was charged with the less serious crime of vandalism and potentially faced imprisonment for as long as a year, along with a maximum fine of $100,000, should they be found guilty. Ngo made their court appearance on Friday, 25th April.

Kick streamer slams “haters” after fine for vandalizing ancient landmark

That very day, after returning his stream, Ngo proudly shared the news that he had secured a sponsor due to the recent event. He explained that his benefactor had generously provided him with a van, allowing him to carry on his journey across the United States.

Additionally, he asserted that he had been issued a $350 fine, mentioning that this financial penalty enabled him to make between $30,000 and $50,000 due to the kindness of his benefactor.

He stated he received a $350 fine, and furthermore explained that this fine had led to earnings ranging from $30,000 to $50,000, all thanks to his sponsor’s generosity.

He shared in his broadcast that the judge seemed puzzled, saying something along the lines of, “I can’t believe what I’m seeing here.” The judge inside appeared concerned, almost apologetic, as he explained, “I’m sorry for your situation. I understand there were other carvings on it, but since you were live streaming this, a fine is necessary.

“It was hella funny the way the judge was interacting with me. I’m free.”

The U.S. National Park Service enforces a ‘Leave No Trace’ policy, encouraging visitors to keep the parks clean and refrain from damaging any of their landmarks. These parks are safeguarded by federal legislation concerning archaeology and historic preservation, with offenders facing penalties such as imprisonment and monetary fines.

On previous occasions, Ngo’s actions have stirred up controversy among viewers. In the month of February 2023, the broadcaster encountered criticism when allegations surfaced that he had previously mistreated his pet dog, stating that he frequently hit the dog hard in the face.

As a fellow enthusiast, I’m not alone in experiencing legal complications stemming from my live streaming activities. Vitaly, a Russian streamer, is currently incarcerated in the Philippines following accusations of harassing locals during his visit to their country. Similarly, Johnny Somali, who has made headlines for his controversial behavior, is facing severe charges in South Korea due to several alleged criminal offenses.
