Having started just a year ago and already outperforming Twitch in terms of viewership is no small feat! The growth they’ve experienced this October is nothing short of astronomical, with an impressive 33% increase in average viewers.
In October 2024, the audience for the Kick streaming service experienced a massive surge, with numerous streamers setting new personal viewership highs.
Positioned as “the most lucrative gaming and live streaming hub,” Kick was founded in October 2022, with its official debut taking place in January 2023.
Absolutely, the competition between the platform and Twitch has played a significant role in its early achievements. Notably, this is because some popular Twitch streamers have decided to move to Kick.
Over the past while, Kick has demonstrated its ability to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Twitch. Recently, it’s amassed data that underscores this rivalry, and October 2024 was particularly noteworthy as it set numerous records in various categories.
Kick breaks viewership record by 33%
In October, Kick saw an average viewership of over 360,700 – marking a substantial 33% jump compared to September, as reported by Streamcharts.
In just a few short months, we’ve released another record, following our previous one from July 2024 where the website was averaging approximately 271,000 viewers daily.
In terms of viewer preference, ‘Just Chatting’ live streams were the most-watched, racking up over 58.98 million hours of viewing time in October alone – a significant 25% jump compared to September. The IRL (In Real Life) category came in second, showing a whopping 114% growth and surpassing ‘Slots & Casino’ in total hours watched.
Streamers break their own records in busy month
In the IRL (In Real Life) streaming category, it was N3on who held the title of the busiest streamer, amassing an impressive 18.4 million viewing hours primarily due to a 24-hour nonstop broadcast.
In the Minecraft category, there was a substantial increase in streaming activity, with a total of 21.5 million HW accumulated – this represents an over 770% rise compared to the last month. A significant portion of this growth can be attributed to live streams by WestCol and Spreen during the major Dedsafio event.
Regarding popular streamers, n3on and WestCol led the pack with over 21.1 million and 20.6 million hours watched each, a whopping three times the amount logged by any other streamer on the platform.
3rd place was claimed by Streen, who joined Kick’s streaming platform towards the end of September 2024. Despite this relatively late start, he managed to rank among the top three most-watched streamers, boasting a total view time of over 6.78 hours. Impressively, he also broke his own record with a peak audience of more than 248.6 thousand viewers.
Following a short hiatus, sxb re-emerged among the leading 10 streamers on the Kick platform. Despite streaming very little in September, he made a comeback in October by regularly streaming Grand Theft Auto V, effortlessly racking up over 4 million hours of viewership.
In the realm of female streaming, a new frontrunner has risen to the top in the women’s leaderboard. By October’s close, GirlOfNox, hailing from Argentina, was the most-watched female streamer on Kick, with her channel accumulating an impressive 1.55 million hours of viewership throughout the month. This total is almost twice as much as that of Amouranth.
