Kick dethrones Twitch in key market that they had dominated

It appears that Stream A (let’s call it Kick) has overtaken Stream B (Twitch) in a significant streaming metric, and it seems likely that this lead will be maintained for some time.

Over the past several years, Twitch has encountered various competitors in the realm of live streaming. Platforms such as Facebook Gaming and Mixer have faded away, while YouTube remains a dominant force. Additionally, alternatives like Rumble also exist in this space.

On the other hand, among all options, it’s clear that Stake’s backing of the Kick platform has emerged as the most triumphant. Not only has Kick been able to lure several well-known streamers away from Twitch, but they’ve also started making inroads in various game titles and challenging Twitch’s market dominance.

At the start of July, Kick exceeded a total of one billion hours viewed, and based on certain statistics, it also took over a quarter of the streaming market share.

Kick beats Twitch in Spanish-speaking viewership

Moreover, they’ve made an additional stride. According to data from Kick vs Twitch, a platform that monitors viewership in various regions, Kick has surpassed Twitch in terms of Spanish-speaking streamers and their audience.

On July 3, the streaming service backed by stakeholders surpassed Twitch and hasn’t shown any signs of slowing since then. In fact, the difference between them grew most significantly on July 14.

KickVsTwitch’s statistics were noticed by Kick’s Spanish social media platforms and they shared it on X (previously known as Twitter), celebrating the achievement.

In the case of Spanish-speaking streamers, it’s the second occurrence where Kick has outperformed Twitch in terms of taking the lead.

In October 2024, the Colombian streamer WestCol surpassed a million simultaneous viewers during his Stream Fighters 3 broadcast, momentarily pushing Kick ahead of Twitch.

During this stretch, Kick has maintained an impressive streak at the summit, holding roughly 60% supremacy compared to Kick vs. Twitch.
