KFC releases ‘Gravy Drip’ luxury fashion collection including a $1,900 jacket

KFC collaborates with high-end London brand Aries to launch a line of premium goods under their ‘Gravy Drip’ brand.

In terms of unique collaborations, KFC is undoubtedly the reigning champion. This year alone, they’ve introduced a chicken-tasting toothpaste, and back in 2020, they revealed a gaming console designed to keep fried chicken warm.

Currently, KFC has teamed up with Aries for a unique collaboration. This time, they’re blending urban fashion with the concept of “golden liquid.

The ten-piece collection is out now with some items even being sold out on the online store.

KFC launches wild luxury fashion items

According to Branding In Asia, the design takes its inspiration from ancient Roman banquets, skillfully blending these artistic themes with contemporary streetwear styles.

Phoebe Syms, KFC UK & Ireland Brand Manager, shared that when we considered combining the nation’s love for gravy with fashion, there was only one bold and iconic brand we felt would join us in this venture – Aries.

“This is more than just a collab, it’s the ultimate gravy drip, a love letter to our liquid gold.”

Among the items available are a drumstick necklace priced at $130 (currently out of stock), a gravy boat costing $54, trousers for $270, and two shirts at $100 each.

The most elite item, a leather jacket, comes to just over $1,897 USD.

Sofia Praneta, founder of Aries, shared that they aimed to craft something refined yet subtly ironic. The concept of reverence, tradition, and indulgence reminded them of a grand Roman feast, an ode to extravagance.”

This version maintains the original meaning while being more approachable and easier to read for most audiences.

Interestingly enough, it’s not just KFC that’s showing affection for Rome. In fact, McDonald’s recently discovered what seems like an ancient Roman mosaic in Italy – a unique piece of art installation!

McDonald’s shares that they used approximately 18,000 separate, intricately designed tiles to create a mosaic that gives an authentic Roman feel.

It’s tough to predict what KFC will come up with next, as they keep pushing boundaries with innovative collaborations. For instance, just last month, they transformed their gravy into ice cream in partnership with Hackney Gelato.
