Rematch offers a distinctive take on soccer gaming, differing from games like EA Sports FC 25 in that you don’t oversee an entire team. Instead, it’s designed as a 5 vs 5 multiplayer experience, allowing you to control just one player and work together with others. The game has garnered interest following a successful beta launch in April. The recent testing phase started yesterday, and once more, attracted a large number of participants. At its peak during the Steam test, it drew over 140,000 players. However, there are some areas that need refinement. For instance, matchmaking appears to be less than perfect, sometimes resulting in errors rather than matches. As for the age-old debate between keyboard and controller, at this stage, the controller is proving more popular, outperforming the mouse and keyboard with ease.
Keyboard or controller in Rematch? What to choose?
In Rematch, you can either play using a mouse, keyboard, or controller. Following the last beta test, developers chose to modify the control settings (keybinds). Some gamers think this change has been detrimental. On the official Discord server, numerous disgruntled players have voiced their complaints. Additionally, while the flexibility to reassign keys on a keyboard and mouse is typically a significant advantage, this feature hasn’t been implemented as of yet in Rematch.
If you’re up for making a choice between the two (and I assume you are since you’re here), consider playing the game Rematch using a controller. Many players find this to be a more preferable option, but remember that we’re still in the beta phase. Improvements might be made after the 1.0 release or later. So let’s keep an eye on it and enjoy the ride!
In most cases, controllers are the preferred choice for sports and racing games. This is why players of Rematch often opt for a controller over a keyboard and mouse. Yet, inappropriate key assignments can still cause issues. Not all dedicated PC gamers own a controller.
The game “Rematch” is set to debut on June 19th, and it’s playable on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. If you’re eager to try it out ahead of the release, this beta test might be your final opportunity. But remember, time is running out as the testing period ends on May 31st. So don’t delay!
