The Buckleys, who have reigned over Havenport, North Carolina for many years, have controlled various aspects of the town, such as the fishing industry and restaurant scene. However, their fishing empire is now facing difficulties due to the health issues of Harlan Buckley (Holt McCallany), who has had two heart attacks. In an attempt to keep the family businesses running smoothly, his wife Belle (Maria Bello) and son Cane (Jake Weary) have taken on more responsibilities.
In a downward spiral leading to dangerous circumstances, Harlan regains control. Meanwhile, Bree (Melissa Benoist), Buckley’s daughter and a recovering addict who has lost custody of her son, navigates a complex relationship that could jeopardize the family’s future for good.
In the role of writer, executive producer, and showrunner, Williamson is involved in the production. Additionally, Ben Fast, Michael Narducci, and Marcos Siega all serve as executive producers. The series “The Waterfront” was filmed in Wilmington and Southport, North Carolina – locations where Williamson’s previous work, “Dawson’s Creek,” was set.
