Recently, renowned director Kevin Smith reintroduced the iconic animated series “Masters of the Universe” (or He-Man) on Netflix, divided into two seasons: Masters of the Universe: Revelation and Masters of the Universe Revolution. These seasons will be combined in a new $50 Blu-ray Collection set to release on May 13, and you can pre-order it now on Amazon.
The show continues the storyline from the ’80s Masters of the Universe animated series, picking up immediately after He-Man’s apparent demise in Skeletor’s attack on Castle Grayskull. Since He-Man is no longer around to protect Eternia, the narrative in this sequel, titled Revelation, follows Teela as she embarks on a mission to save the day and discover the mysteries of Grayskull. The show has been praised by fans, although it’s not yet clear if there will be a third season. However, both seasons serve as enjoyable tributes to the original series, featuring high-quality animation. Notable voice actors in these seasons include Mark Hamill as Skeletor, Sarah Michelle Gellar as Teela, and the late Tony Todd as Scare-Glow.
If you aim to finish your collection, there’s a DVD set available that includes the 1983-1985 He-Man cartoons. This set also features other classic titles from Filmation’s ’80s heyday and the popular Netflix reboot of She-Ra.
