As a long-time fan of SNK and its iconic fighting game series, I was absolutely thrilled to witness the latest announcements during Evo 2024. The addition of Kevin Rian to Fatal Fury: City Of The Wolves is a dream come true for me. His hard-hitting moveset, showcased in the reveal trailers, reminds me of the intense battles I’ve had with him in previous games. The ability to crawl along the ground and rise into a kick is such an unique mechanic that adds a new layer of strategy to the game.
At Evo 2024’s presentation, SNK unveiled new characters for two of its fighting games. One is already out, and the other will be released early next year. A new character, Kevin Rian, a law-enforcing SWAT officer, has been introduced to Fatal Fury: City Of The Wolves. In contrast, The King Of Fighters XV will welcome two femme fatales, Vice and Mature, later in the year.
In his introduction to City of The Wolves, following his appearance in Garou: Mark of the Wolves, Kevin is demonstrated to bring a formidable moveset. This consists of sliding along the ground and suddenly rising for a powerful kick, accompanied by some forceful punching actions.
At Evo, the latest instalment was unveiled for KoF XV, with Vice and Mature confirmed as Rugal Bernstein’s new butlers joining the game in December 2024. No footage of the duo was displayed in the reveal trailer.
At Evo 2024, two significant announcements were made. This prominent gaming competition is renowned for being the largest in history, hosting over 10,000 distinct participants from around the world, competing in eight diverse games. The most popular tournaments include Street Fighter 6, Tekken 8, and Guilty Gear Strive. Notably, the classic game Street Fighter III: Third Strike also saw a strong registration, placing it among the top contenders.
