Kenan Thompson Suggests ‘A Lot of Change’ Is Coming For ‘SNL’ Season 51: ‘You Want Everyone to Stay Forever’

Long-standing “Saturday Night Live” performer, Kenan Thompson, is subtly suggesting significant alterations are coming to Studio 8H.

In a chat with Page Six, Thompson hinted that the team on Saturday Night Live could see some changes ahead of its upcoming 51st season.

Indeed, this upcoming year seems ripe with potential for significant shifts, as I’ve found myself pondering lately. At the age of 22, Thompson has starred in more seasons than any other actor in the history of the show. Despite not yet committing to a return for season 23, he remains open-minded about potentially rejoining “SNL” again.

He stated, ‘The future is uncertain,’ expressing a desire not to obstruct others or become stuck in a routine. Such instances aren’t common on ‘SNL’, but nothing is set in stone, I suppose.

He continues to declare that Saturday Night Live remains among his most cherished spots, even after years of dedication to the program.

Thompson has consistently stood up for “SNL,” and most recently, he stepped forward to defend the program when musical guest Morgan Wallen unexpectedly left the stage during the cast’s final bow. Some viewers took this viral incident as a gesture of disregard.

Thompson expressed bewilderment, saying, “I can’t fathom the thoughts behind such actions. I’m unsure if he grasped the task at hand or if his emotions were driving him.
