As a dedicated gamer, I can’t help but sing the praises of Keep Driving, a captivating blend of RPG, adventure, and resource management that takes us on an unforgettable cross-country journey filled with challenges and surprising encounters. This indie gem, launched in February, has been making waves, boasting an impressive 94% positive rating on Steam. Critics can’t get enough of it, almost giving it perfect scores. It seems that the charm of pixel art and a nostalgic early 2000s feel are still a hit in the gaming world. Since its release, it’s primarily received updates, but now there’s a roadmap hinting at what’s to come next.
New content, localization, and console ports ahead
As a passionate gamer, I’ve been eagerly waiting for updates from YCJY Games regarding the expansion of localization options in their game, “Keep Driving.” And, let me tell you, I wasn’t alone! Many gamers have been asking the same question. Well, it seems our queries have finally reached the developers because they’ve decided to share some insights with us.
In an exciting turn of events, on March 27th, they unveiled a comprehensive roadmap for 2025, giving us a sneak peek into what the future holds for this game. Console porting and additional localization options might just be in our gaming future!
Four upcoming updates will include:
- April – new content and controller support.
- May – smaller new content.
- Late summer/early fall – more localization options (Simplified Chinese, Japanese, German, French, Brazilian Portuguese, Spanish, Ukrainian, Russian).
- Late fall/early winter – console ports.
Regarding console versions, the developers have not specified the exact consoles where the game will be playable as of now, but they hinted at it potentially being released on some consoles.
Switch is most likely going to be included.
Additionally, the developers mentioned that they would collaborate with Juju Adams, an accomplished GameMaker specialist, for tasks involving localization and porting. Consequently, they plan to reduce the pace of content updates and release fewer updates in 2023.
